This is a colloquial expression. It's a shortened form of 「NというN」. The form 「NっていうN」 can also be used. Used when talking about something the speaker doesn't know or something the speaker assumes the listener doesn't know. For the interrogative word 「何」, it becomes 「なんて」instead of 「なんって」.
