New memberI like Wagotabi. It's phenomenal. Phenomenal! Best bang for your buck compared to everything below at a beginner level. They'll have to raise the price eventually though.
never, really liked Duo when I tried it years ago.
I'm trying Migaku, which starts out with the casual level and teaches the polite forms later.
YuSpeak is definitely pretty decent so far, but it likes to see if you can guess a word before they teach it to you, however they use native speakers in their short video clips. Each lesson is quick, too. Memrise also uses native speakers and teachers vocab and normal phrases (read non-textbook). And Lingo Legend is a lot of fun.
Japanesepod101 is fairly decent, but the progression is slow, however I like their core-2000 word list. And I'm trying Wani-Kani, but that is more for learning Kanji.
Another app I'm really liking is ReWord. It's like an Anki but has pre-built decks.
Kanji Study is something I use regularly, and lastly, Lingo Legend is one of the funnest ways to get your recognition level down.
tl;dr
1. Wagotabi – I think I've gotten more from this than anything else at an early level.
2. YuSpeak
3. ReWord
4. Lingo Legend - unique and a lot of fun
5. Kanji Study
6. I haven't tried the Todaii app yet, as I wanted to learn a little more, but I think this will be a top app for me too.
For speaking: I like Pimsleur's voice trainer, seems to be one of the more accurate, and I've only gone like 12 lessons in, but focuses highly on the textbook, but they do teach some of the "normal" ways here and there. Migaku was advertised as having a great voice trainer, but I haven't made it that far yet.
non-app
1. WaniKani (web-based)
2. Japanesepod101

New member@OhLaww also, it looked like Migaku also had h/l pitch markers, but again, haven't gotten that far.

New memberI really only knew the fact that Duolingo was BAD for grammar, so that's why I only said that I use Duo. for grammar...! But, thanks for recommending me! @OhLaww

New memberSo, I think I'm going to change after finding Bunpro the other day.
It's free for 30-days, and in the grammar tab, they have breakdowns of all 5 JLPT grammar points.
I've been enjoying Reword for Vocab, but Bunpro does as well in the same way as the grammar. Also, Bunpro has the pitch marks.
Wagotabi is still a lot of fun. But I'm really impressed with Bunpro.
