通り (とおり/どおり)

「通り」describes an event that occurs or an action that is performed exactly as stated, thought, instructed, etc. This structure is also used when requesting the listener to do something exactly as they see, hear, read, learn, etc.
「通り」is the kanji for「とおり」, and when directly attached to a noun (without の), it is read as「どおり」.
Comparison between「通り」and「ように」:
-「通り」requests that the event/action in the following clause must occur/ proceed exactly as stated in the preceding clause without any deviation.
-「ように」requests that the event/action in the following clause occurs/proceeds similarly to the preceding clause and can accept some minor differences.
